Re:Protein Supplements Bad? - 2010/02/08 08:42
Since becoming a vegetarian, almost all the books and articles I've read all say this exact thing. At first I figured it was a he said she said thing, but I have a friend who is vegan. And since becoming vegan (2 years ago) he has a better physic and has run several marathons. He maybe consume 50-60g of protein a day. He rarely gets sick and he heals extremely fast. If you read about top athletes that are vegetarian or vegan, it's the same way. I'm really starting to thing this excess need for protein has been money driven. Tell athletes they can get stronger and bigger by protein supplements.

I personally have found that I'm doing better with less protein and I'm not hungry like I thought I would be. I'm getting in 30-50g a day. I've lost almost 5# and have been able to increase my running speed.
